The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

If you want soft cookies that are rich and doughy on the inside, this recipe is for you!

Credit to Joy Food Sunshine for truly the best chocolate chip cookies! The original recipe makes a lot, so I halved it here, and very slightly tweaked it.

Ingredients

1 stick of unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup of white granulated sugar
1/2 cup of light brown sugar packed
1 tsp of pure vanilla extract
1 large egg
1 and 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp of baking soda
1/4 tsp of baking powder
1/8 tsp of salt, or a pinch
1 or 1/2 cup of chocolate chips or chunks (depending on how much chocolate you want)

Instructions

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder.

Cream together butter and sugars until combined. Mix in egg and vanilla until fluffy.

Mix in with the dry ingredients.

Add chocolate chips or chunks.

Refrigerate dough for 30 minutes.

Set oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Roll the cookie dough into medium-sized balls (or scoop it with a medium-sized cookie dough scooper) and place them on a baking tray (1.5 to 2 inches apart) lined with parchment paper. Set the tray on the top rack in the oven.

Bake for 8 - 9 minutes. You want the cookies when they're barely brown.
